How VibeFit Founder Became ‘Gladstone’s Best Personal Trainer’

As Personal Trainer & founder of VibeFit Gladstone, a small independent and locally owned studio, Miki Gibson, is busy fulfilling her vision – to help as many Gladstone locals as she can to improve their health and well-being through fitness.

 

Miki’s Story:

For 6 years, Miki battled an eating disorder that deeply affected her mental and physical health. That was until she took control of her life by diving into the world of nutrition and exercise, learning what her body truly needed. This journey not only led to her recovery but also ignited her passion for helping others transform their lives through fitness.

“The way I got out of it was by teaching myself why my body needs nutrition and exercise,” Miki explains. “Learning about that helped me recover, and now I want to teach others.”

Now, after a decade in the fitness industry, Miki has become the inspiration and support for so many. Recently, she was honoured as Gladstone’s Best Personal Trainer by her community and the readers of her local Observer newspaper; a testament to her dedication and impact in the community.

 

The VibeFit Journey and Mission:

Miki became a qualified Personal Trainer in 2014 and after working as part owner and manager of her business from 2017, she rebranded, relocated and became the sole owner of VibeFit Gladstone just over a year ago.

And since the rise of social media and the online world, Miki is all too aware that the health and fitness industry has unfortunately become saturated with fake gurus, uneducated influencers, and misguided advice.

“I feel like there’s a lot of myths and fads around the training people need to do and diets, so I want to teach people the real stuff and not the bulls#*t.” says Miki.

Her mission is clear: to dispel the myths and fads surrounding fitness and nutrition and provide real, evidence-based guidance to her clients. Each week, she and her qualified team train about 80 members at the VibeFit studio, focusing on strength and conditioning to increase muscle mass and boost metabolism.

But VibeFit is about more than just exercise; it’s about a holistic approach to health.

“We also coach on mindset and offer nutrition guidance, so it’s everything else that goes with it, not just the exercise,” Miki says. “Whether in small groups, semi-private sessions, or one-on-one, every member receives the same level of support both inside and outside the gym.”

Miki’s passion for her work is fueled by the tangible changes she sees in her clients’ lives. “I’m actually helping people change their lives, and that’s what makes it worth it for me,” she shares. “I had someone message me the other day saying they had been on a flight and, for the first time, felt comfortable sitting on a plane. It’s things like that, that make a difference in people’s lives.”

Being voted as Gladstone’s best personal trainer came as a surprise to Miki, who is overwhelmed by the support of her clients and community.  “I’m blown away to be named Gladstone’s Best Personal Trainer 2024 by the people who matter most – my local community!” she said.
